The Centro Cultural Colombo Americano, the Embassy of the United States in Colombia, and Meridian International Center developed #MuralArts, a program directed towards the cultural exchange between artists of the region and the American muralist, Augustina Droze Studio, Inc.
This program lasted approximately two months, during which pedagogical meetings and collective mural interventions were developed in different parts of the city of Cali. The mural "Three Queens" reflects the empowerment of women in society without distinction of race. The women who appear in the artwork wear necklaces and crowns that were represented with butterflies, birds, and flowers, expressing the power that women have taken from nature.
The combination of races represented by the women in the artwork invites observers to respect and coexist. The development of the "Three Queens" mural was led by American artist Augustina Droze with the support of Colombian artist José Camilo Palacio Constain.
This public artwork also included the collaboration of the following artists: Anny Collazos, Yolima Reyes, Nora Piedrahita, Raquel Gonzales, Pablo Gómez, Santiago Balanta, Himer Molina, Winston Sánchez, Pilar Moreno, Natalia Cajiao, Adrián Ospina, Henry Narváez and Jhon Ordoñez (Colombia).
