Artist Statement
Adopting a multidisciplinary approach allows me to combine traditional representational media, such as painting, sculpture, and readymade, with emerging technologies such as electronics, 3D design, and animation, along with extended realities (virtual, mixed, and augmented) and artificial intelligence.
My artistic language turns around the exploration of the new aesthetics that emerge from the fusion between the natural and the artificial. This link, developed from a young age
through my constant interaction with technology, has led me
to question the naturalist and linear visions of ecology. From these reflections, I have contemplated the existence of a
hybrid environment that integrates dimensions such as science, technology, art, culture, and the forms of relationship between the living and the modified. The interpretation of
the structure, form, material, and function of these new ecologies has been crucial in defining the appearance and essence of my artistic pieces.
Adopting a multidisciplinary approach allows me to
combine traditional representational media, such as painting, sculpture, and readymade, with emerging technologies such
as electronics, 3D design, and animation, along with
extended realities (virtual, mixed, and augmented) and
artificial intelligence.
This combination of techniques expands my artistic practice beyond the boundaries of the museum and gallery, involving it directly in the social sphere through the production of public art processes and projects that combine art education with the analysis of social phenomena.
Through my artistic process, I invite the viewer to participate in a dialogue about the new realities that emerge in a world where the natural and the artificial are increasingly integrated and interconnected. My goal is that each piece not only stimulates aesthetic reflection, but also fosters a deeper understanding of how these hybrid realities impact our lives and our perception of the world around us.
Bio
My focus on combining art and technology allows me to create solutions that transform complex concepts into stunning visual and interactive experiences. With over 9 years of experience,
I am a Master of Arts in Media Design and Graphic Designer specializing in 3D design, digital illustration, and public art.
My career began in Colombia, where I worked on projects that combined traditional and digital art techniques to create innovative visual experiences, exploring the aesthetic relationship between the natural and the artificial.
One of my first achievements was designing the World Games Cali—2013 official logo symbol for the International World Games Association (IWGA). My dedication to public art and
new technologies allowed me to collaborate with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Universidad Icesi, Fundación Centro Cultural Colombo Americano, and the Secretaría de Cultura de Palmira.
In 2022, thanks to the Artistas Jóvenes Talentos scholarship from ICETEX, I moved to Geneva, Switzerland, to pursue a Master's degree in Media Design at the Haute école d'art et de design (HEAD). This change marked a new stage in my career, allowing me to establish myself in Geneva and take advantage
of international opportunities during my training.
During my internship at the Center for Visual Immersion (CVI)
at the University of Geneva, I acquired skills in 3D design,
mainly in Hard Surface, along with texturing in Substance Painter and development in Unreal Engine. I led 3D modeling and VR/AR projects in collaboration with science departments, integrating emerging technologies into visual projects that merged art
and science.
I have presented my work in international scenarios such as the Mapping Festival (Geneva), Museo la Tertulia (Cali), and Corferias (Bogotá), and I have contributed to events in Colombia, such as the II Bienal Internacional de Muralismo y Arte Público de Cali. These experiences have allowed me to connect with diverse audiences and share my artistic vision in different contexts.
Currently, I maintain ties with the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia, where I teach remotely in the area of Advertising Informatics. This semester, I am dedicated to my professional growth, developing new skills, and exploring ways
to expand my artistic and educational practice. I am open to new opportunities and collaborations in the industries of design, technology, education, visual arts, architecture, and
international organizations.
